Seraphim are dragons of the Wind and Light, never needing to land or sleep as long as the sun shines upon their wings. As such, they are seldom seen, since they spend their entire life cycles up above the clouds where the sun is always shining, pursuing the sunset and racing ahead of the dawn. They even lay their eggs up there; the larger dragons in the Flock carrying them upon their backs until they hatch and the little ones can unfurl their wings and leap out into the air. The only time the Seraphim descend is when they need food or water or when they have a new story-song to tell. At such a time, they swoop down from their incredible heights and quickly snatch up whatever they need or sing their story-song before soaring upwards again, gone as swiftly as they came. Many dragons who are land-bound or who never climb to the greater altitudes believe them to be a mere myth because of this. Physique: Seraphim, unlike most dragons, are always hatched completely flight-worthy, even if it takes a while before their signature uncommonly large wingspan and hardy wing muscles develop enough that they can stay in the air perpetually. Until those traits set in, they catch short breaks on the backs of the larger dragons, where they also sleep. A Seraph is not considered fully grown in the eyes of the Flock until he or she can keep flying even while asleep.
