Kurai

Kurai is a painfully optimistic man who doesn’t take his studies very seriously these days even though he should. This is because of his tough upbringing, having been forced to train night and day for years without rest. His specialty is archery and while he’s very proficient at it, he could be one of the best in Kasaiwari if he put his mind to it. His approach to combat is to give it all he’s got and throw caution to the wind, much to Tsuru’s chagrin. However, when it comes to Tsuru’s safety Kurai is much more serious. He’d sooner throw himself on the sword then let any harm come to the prince. It’s because of this that everyone is willing to put up with his antics with little more than a light scolding.

Kurai is a prankster and often teases Tsuru about how he’s more kitsune than he is in this respect. Fortunately, it’s usually pretty easy to tell when he’s up to something thanks to the uncontrollable grin he wears when he’s done something that’s sure to annoy and or amuse whoever’s unfortunate enough to be caught in his crosshairs.
