Male Rixarfaes are the most battle-oriented, aggressive Merfae. The females, however, are usually tiny, quiet, and withdrawn, preferring flight over fight. Rixarfae is the result of selectively breeding captured and imprisoned Merfaes to obtain the most beautiful, vibrant colours and feistiest attitudes. For all their strength and boldness, however, their "domestication" left them unfit to survive in the wild bodies of water in Sornieth; if they do not find a clan or a pod to care for them, they will quickly die.

This dependence paired with their heightened aggression has caused them to clash with their wild brethren, who typically see them as nothing but trouble. Markfaes are of the opinion that not only are they simply too volatile to be allowed around their kin (due in no small part to the fact that handling Rixarfae tantrums falls on them), but that they are also too useless to waste their pod's resources on.



-GATHERER-
Gatherers are commonly the members who do not fit into other roles, or prefer a quieter life. They collect food and valuables for their pod and handle the day-to-day trading. It is not unusual for them to also assist in the raising of hatchlings.
