The frigid depths of the Fortress created an entity that has a strong drive to capture prey. This inadvertently lead to chasing behaviors that acted more like instincts than trained duty. He would perform best when guarding and would become affectionate with his kin, protecting when necessary. This being was one of the most gentle and loyal, with a willingness and ability to confidently defend when called. Always wary of strangers when his companions are present, he would only accept others at his pack's approval.
It is for these reasons that the Vakt, the God-born of Ice; is highly favored as the warden, guard dog, and partner.

Born shackled deep inside the glacial prisons of the Fotress of Ends, Vakt was the frigid heart of the cold. Prisoners and guards alike were hostile, making Vakt's only experience with others always left a cold feeling of loneliness. So he escaped.

Finding others born from the purest of the elements, his instincts to guard and protect reached fulfillment and finally there was purpose to his life. Vakt would look forward to his future with those he was attuned with.

At last after the battle was won, Vakt was left alone once more. His future no longer seemed visible, like a wall of snow in a relentless blizzard. Without his feeling of purpose, Vakt retracted back to his cold and hardened warden duties. Back to the prisons of The Fortress - but even there he felt no meaning in his guard. So he escaped once again.

Hoping the endless winter storm could drown out the cries of crackling lightning.
