PERSONALITY & QUIRKS Cloudrise takes after his father more than his mother. He hates disorganized messes and is quick to take charge when see fit. Like his mother Cloudrise is compassionate, but unlike her he is comfortable talking to others. Unlike either of his parents Cloudrise loves the earth and what it can reveal. He loves the feel of dark chambers as he discovers relics of the past. ABOUT History Cloudrise was born in the Sanctuary’s Water branch and spent his childhood years raised there by his mother. While his mother loved the blooming gardens that she personally grew, Cloudrise didn’t really see the appeal of it. Yes he liked the flowers and the smells but there wasn’t anything that called him. The gardens seemed messy to him, but Cloudrise couldn’t do anything to fix it. When Cloudrise moved to live with his father for his teenage years he found his passion. At first it was just the enjoyment of an organized space and the company of a younger sister, but this quickly became an interest in the earth. Merideth, Cloudrise’s sister, showed Cloudrise her passion and connection to the earth. She showed him how Huntersnap had taken her as an apprentice and how Merideth spent much of her time learning about Sornieth’s history. It was mostly the idea of exploring the past that caught Cloudrise’s interest. He started to accompany Merideth to her lessons with Huntersnap and soon joined her as an apprentice. Cloudrise loved the experience of moving soil and dirt to reveal a cracked relic and then restoring that same relic to its former glory. Both Cloudrise and Merideth left the Sanctuary to experience a different part of Sornieth in the same trip, heading to Dragonhome for a bit to learn under different instructors. They found there that they preferred Huntersnap’s almost erratic and rustic ways to the archaeologists at Dragonhome but enjoyed the experience nevertheless. They were given the titles of proper archaeologists and sent back home after a couple of years, joining Huntersnap’s team. Currently Cloudrise enjoys his days as the manager of Huntersnap’s team, making sure they don’t lose artifacts in their constant evacuations and don’t accidently cause trouble with someone by digging up certain land. He acts as a go-between with the rest of the Sanctuary for supplies and rations that Huntersnap & Merideth continually forget they need. Whenever the team doesn’t need a particular artifact it is usually Cloudrise who stores it in the team’s warehouse. It is Cloudrise’s job to keep the warehouse organized, something constantly disrupted when Huntersnap randomly decides to store artifacts herself. Cloudrise has spent a lot of time with Inlustris while spending time with Merideth as the two are best friends. While not anything more than friends in the past, Cloudrise discovered feelings for Inlustris that were beyond that. They’re not mates or that close but Cloudrise does take time to try and court her when he can. Cloudrise has had a few hatchlings throughout his life, but rarely ever spent the attention to look after them. Most of his hatchlings are raised with their mothers or in the Hatchery. FAMILIAR BACKGROUND/PERSONALITY When his mother brought home a Patina Pangolin from one of her diplomatic meetings, Cloudrise immediately offered to take it in. The tunnel loving creature is both an excellent companion and help to the evacuation team as they search for a new find. Cloudrise named the pangolin Iku after Merideth's suggestion, though he's still not sure why. SKILLS & HOBBIES While not the most skilled in digging, Cloudrise is a master at deciphering the relics his team find. He can easily find what books and scrolls he needs to translate ancient languages. Cloudrise also is skilled at finding almost anything in the messes his team usually leaves. Cloudrise isn't skilled at fighting and prefers a diplomatic way out of tough situations. ALTERNATE LOOKS/FORMS
