  • Ever since she was a hatchling Akilin has been at her father's side, learning the ways of magic and memorizing his knowledge of the arcane. There was once a time when she would put all her time into studying and practicing her forcibly given craft, but she gave up on it a long time ago and now her efforts are half-hearted. Instead she does anything in her power to find loopholes to exploit in order to pacify her father or impress his colleagues. But in truth most sorts of magic she shows off are from relics or magical items enchanted by other dragons, she has very little connection to her own magic and thus is incapable of producing anything even close to the displays her father so easily conjures.
  • Being the daughter of an expert mage has left lasting scars in her personality. Though she hates magic with a burning passion she is desperate for any form of praise or acknowledgement from Rime, but the only thing that gets his attention is shows of magical prowess and significant advancements. It has made her more than willing to lie and cheat for the chance to produce better and better magic to show her aloof father. All she wants is to make him proud, to be someone deserving of his bloodline that is so respected in the arcane community, but she is simply incapable of remembering any of the books she is forced to read or being magically inclined enough to be by her father's side instead of being a disappointment lingering in his massive shadow.
  • Akilin is unable to fully understand why Tome is worthy of Rime's affection and she, his own flesh and blood, his heir, is not. She has nothing personally against Tome, but she still resents him for so easily getting what she's been working her entire life for. In truth she doesn't really know what her father's affection would look like, he has never been one to express his true feelings and keeps a facade of superiority and disregard.
  • With Rime having practically given up on her ever improving magic wise, Akilin has been given space to breathe and indulge in her own interests. Without the strict time schedules and stress she's found that she is quite fond of botany and has a knack for it, even being able to retain the information from the books she reads and finding it to be much more enjoyable an experience than being forced to do it. To her uncharacteristic delight, Basina, the Nature Ambassador of the clan, has taken her in as an apprentice, and she's quickly developing her talents. Some could even mistake her for a fledgling nature dragon with how quickly she has picked up Basina's teachings.
  • Her built up anger and bitterness occasionally results in her lashing out at others despite her efforts to be left alone, but her upbringing has conditioned her to be polite and afraid of giving away her feelings, so she often gives people the impression of a skittish, cornered cat. Even when around dragons she likes she has a resting glare, her tone filled with growls and grumbles of disdain.
