"Oh, we hated you for what you’ve done. But as time passed, so did our hate. And we were left with an understanding. An understanding of the only way to defeat a superior enemy is to stop at nothing, and to become what they fear."

Storm was taken by the Colony from her home that was destroyed for it's large wealth for it's high quality crops. She was resistant and a fighter to anything she was tried to be forced to do, so she was eventually placed into the claws of Flynn who used her in his experiments of bettering his methods for mental control.

The experiments were constantly and destroying Storm's state of mind- she was eventually broken, but further than Flynn had intended. She was seen as useless fodder by Citadel for lack of control from anyone- even herself. She was left in the wastes to die. But Eva had found her on a patrol for Colony members, soothing her from causing herself pain and out of mental anguish.

Eva offered Storm a home, food, care, and a family who loved her. Storm still has what is considered a shattered and fragmented mind, constantly struggling with memories and her own emotions, but Eva and her crew take care of her as their own. She's family, and Eva tells everyone in her crew the same thing- you don't leave your family, no matter what happened to them or yourself. You stay by each other's sides, even in the most intense of battles.

And Storm follows that rule like her life depends on it- because despite everything, it's the one thing her mind can cling to and remember.
