BASIC DESCRIPTION.
"Do you know who I am? Because I do not." The first thing Cassite remembers is awaking in a body that felt so viscerally alien to him. His body creaked and groaned with each movement, the sound of stone scraping against stone echoing with every bend he made. Indeed, the body Cassite awoke in was made of the most beautiful marble and stone, but not the scale and blood that other dragons consist of. He's since been told that inside of the stone lies a network of flesh and blood, a congealment of a body that he doesn't need to know the prior identity of. Never directly has Cassite been told who this body once was, but over years of reflection and putting together the small clues that have slipped from Toxx's maw, he's come to the conclusion that the carcass inside of him seemed to... also once belong to him. Cassite is unsure of how the person he was before acted and spoke, but has become a very closed off and stoic dragon in the years since he first awoke. Once a leader of the Letumis court during the early years it was beginning to build itself, Cassite was killed and his body stolen away from what was once his home by a dragon he worked to imprison for his heinous crimes against the dead. That same dragon was the one who resurrected him after a time, bringing Cassite to such a strange existence and forcing him to whatever whims it desired. Cassite, admittedly, is almost completely unaware of his past life and has no qualms with serving the dragon he believes created him. Perhaps if the mirror had the knowledge of what had been done to him, his mind would change and he would turn against his creator, but for the time being he lives perfectly content to guard the Corrupt Cauldron's small settlement and serve as chief protector to Toxx. Strange memories sometimes flit through Cassite's mind though. A dragon he once loved who shown like the sun, a member of a clan not his own, but not one he can recall. A daughter far away, a talented warrior who spent her life alongside her mother and trained to defend her from the dragons who had done her such harm. A daughter radiant like her mother, one that seems so close and yet forever out of his reach. Every so often the mirror will be wracked with headaches and flooded with thoughts that seem like they don't belong to him, and yet have such a familiarity to them. Some day Cassite wishes so desperately to recall them, but that seems like such a far away dream. |
