Prunviik

Glib, irreverent and suspiciously intelligent, Prunviik, at a glance, is a dragon that never has, nor ever shall take much seriously (much to the chagrin of his long-suffering clanmates). A cheeky jest here, a flippant remark there and several impromptu performances a bit everywhere and the pesky Pearl has left a veritable trail of destruction, a conga line of dragons reeling from laughter, annoyance or befuddlement.

And this, of course, is the only thing that anyone remembers about him.

No one suspects the imbecillic jester of absconding with battle plans, the clown that tumbled wings over tail to make off with secret formulae, the grinning fool of poisoning the drinks of particular onlookers.

Yet, this is what the spy-for-hire Prunviik did for many years on the Windswept Plateau, with wild success. That is, of course, until he overreached and eliminated a high-ranking and very well-known dragon and was ousted.

There was no dramatic chase or mad bid for freedom, however. Why, he did not even get so much as a glimpse of his pursuers! Even in this line of work, it paid to have friends and Prunviik had many. A lowly door guard overheard her fellow peacekeepers discussing their growing suspicion of the jovial jester and she quickly warned him to leave posthaste.

So he ran.

He spent years meticulously covering his tracks while he travelled, earning coin wherever he could through his performances. He still undertook the occasional contract, but that kind of work was hard to come by after cutting his ties.

Eventually, the winds blew this wandering wyrm into the dark, thorned embrace of the Tangled Wood. There he came across a budding clan made up of other dragons who were also escaping from their pasts.

He quietly fell in step with this band of fellows, never so much as hinting at his past life, though, on the darkest nights, under the heavy gaze of the clan leaders, he sometimes feels as though they've known all along. -Written by Toyoll
