The dragons of the Kikai Clan are a mysterious lot living in the far reaches of the Starfall Isles. Like many, their ranks are occupied mostly by astronomers and magicians but also thieves and outcasts. The Kikai are known as a sanctuary for wandering dragons, even those of the unreputable kind. They believe the Arcanist watches over all inhabitants no matter their affiliations. However, even these pacifists have their limits. The number one rule within the clan: slaying another is cause for execution. The Arcanist protects those who protect others and punishes those who shed unnecessary blood.
This clan is also interesting because they not only worship the Arcanist, but many minor dirties as well. They believe that each star and planet is a different entity and there are several sects within the clan. Sometimes they will pledge themselves to one of the nine bodies and dedicate their lives to it. Others dabble in the mystical arts of the Arcanist, using the countless herbs at their disposal for experiments not for the faint of heart. Needless to say, the defenses surrounding the acropolis are quite explosive and devastating to those who do not step carefully. Kikai dragons not born into the clan are taught the various passages and secret ways into the camp. In fact, part of the initiation ritual is not getting your snout blown off by the fireworks one of the alchemists planted in the bushes.
However, a mysterious illness has caused the two founders of the clan to retreat into Slumber, leaving their son Ginga in charge of the rowdy bunch. The winds in the Starfall isles are beginning to shift as the past of one dragon begins to catch up with her in the form of two young dragons who idolize her in the worst way possible. There is also a new alliance being formed with an ancient family of dragons which may influence the way the tide turns.
