Stranger

A beautiful, glittering carrack, the Stranger is unpredictable. Retrofitted with bizarre machinery out of the Shifting Expanse's wildest nightmare, she has a full bank of mechanised oars which she can row unaided by her crew. Of the crew, there is little - she often functions as a large-scale transport and needs all the space she can spare, be it for cargo or passengers.

Her captain seems to be in a daze, often manning the wheel himself. He will simply stare blankly ahead, attentive to the horizon as if waiting for something, while the ship sails into unknown waters, further and further from the land her crew call Sornieth. She's had the same captain for as long as anyone can remember. Who knows what he is thinking.

The Stranger can disappear for days or weeks at a time in that infinite blue before finally returning, her crew none the worse for wear. Sometimes she carries strange passengers or crew; sometimes nothing is different.

The Stranger and Guiding Light often cross paths, and it has become a tradition for the pair to engage in high-volume rescue operations - which always seem to be underway just as the Stranger arrives. She has a habit of showing up at exactly the right time, responding to some great need, and then vanishing until some other crisis arises.
