“adrenaline junkie” would be a more than accurate term in describing coreopsis’ personality. this skydancer is about as far from being a voice of reason role as draconically possibly- the voice of chaos, in fewer words. trouble seems to follow coreopsis wherever he roams, and if you asked the dancer, he’d probably reply (along with a good dose of eye-roll laden sarcasm) that he quite likes it that way. an entirely peaceful life is synonymous with a boring one, in his opinion, although it’s a perspective that serves as a regular stressor for his mates kestrel and lepidoptera. he makes up for it, at least, by being a massive romantic. coreopsis is fond of carrying out grand romantic gestures; to the delight of his most theatrical mate kestrel, and the despair of the much more reserved lepidoptera. the free-spirited nature coreopsis is so defined by is actually part of the reason why he now resides at songbird keep at all. he grew up a considerable distance from the plains, raised by his family, with a long legacy of dancers in his lineage. discord sprouted, however, once he matured enough to begin pursuing the art in his own right. unlike his more traditional roots, coreopsis favored a more freeform and experimental style of dance. unfortunately, this was seen as more crude than the graceful performances of his parents, and his siblings quickly took advantage of this rivalry to usurp his former role as the family’s golden child. stubborn as ever and confident he could prove them wrong, coreopsis left the proverbial nest of his hatchlinghood to become a traveling performer. after a difficult period of adjustment from his older life of privilege to one of more involved work, his unorthodox but lively displays did, indeed, garner the skydancer success. coreopsis initially arrived at songbird keep as a fleeting visit, looking to hire a bard for his next exhibition and aware of the clan’s reputation of especially musically inclined individuals. he made many such visits in the time after- these, however, were to visit two dragons he had met there, kestrel and lepidoptera. after it became evident to the triad that their connection was more romantic than platonic, it was all the reason coreopsis needed to settle in to a new home; this time, one of unconditional (rather than restrictive) affection. |
