Sprigs

Past


Sprig and Sprig were childhood friends who bonded over having the same name. In their reckless youth, thought it'd be very funny to take a dip in Plague's Wyrmwound. Things went very wrong, and now they're stuck together for all eternity. Turns out, having to share a body with someone your entire life is very irritating, and nowadays they tend to get on eachother's nerves. Most of their clanmates at the time found their constant bickering annoying, so the Sprigs became exiled. They've taken to living near the border of Shellkeeper territory, where they were welcomed into a group of other opossum-like outcasts.
Over the years the Sprigs have discovered that music soothes their arguments best. Playing helps calm them down during a fight and gets them to cooperate, at least for a couple of hours. Whenever one of them gets too agitated to speak any further, they wag one of their tails, which hits the ground rhythmically. After a few moments of angry silence, the other will usually start humming along to the beat. Soon they break out into a proper song. Sprig plays the lute, Sprig claps along, and they both sing in harmony. They don't sound all that spectacular, but the dump-dwellers seem to like it well enough.
They've also befriended a stray tabby cat that meows at them when they get too aggro with eachother. Branches called him 'an unlicensed service animal', but the Sprigs had no idea what that might possibly mean. Naturally, that conversation spiraled into a 7 hour argument. It was never brought up again.
