lore notes:
- an academic who'd studied the hewn city for his thesis and came away a little more frightened of the world around him
- loves studying the supernatural, hates getting put into dangerous situations. a combo of traits that he thinks will definitely get him killed at some point, a worry that tends to feed itself all too often
- excelled in an academic setting, but wanted to push his comfort zone somewhat, leading him to take up exploration of light's many abandoned structures and temples. doing so has been a highly informative, if somewhat risky experience
