The children of the Masons are creatures of mystery. Seemingly carved from solid stone, yet somehow birthed from crystal eggs and pulsing with the magic of life and growth, these dragons endlessly seek meaning and purpose in what might be a never-ending life.

No one quite knows why Slate does not speak. Was he born mute? Did he somehow lose his voice? Has he simply chosen not to speak? Whatever the answer, it matters little. Slate can be found lurking on the grounds of the most lavish mansions and palaces, quietly trimming hedges and scrubbing stone walkways clean of mud. When he leaves, disaster strikes. Robberies, vandalism, plagues, death, even inexplicable events of the supernatural persuasion haunt the properties and their inhabitants.

Even when confronted, Slate refuses to speak on the matters. Is he the cause? Or is he a guardian, shielding these families from an even more dangerous foe which no dragon can fathom? One thing is certain: the presence of Slate in or around your home portends doom. Lock your doors. Hide your valuables. Make peace with your God.
