"There are species out there that we may not even know about. Not until I find them, at least."

Radiation was something many dragons in the waste had come to encounter. It wasn't soiling the air or anything, but it's presence was around well enough to affect lives.

Monarch had been a dragon who studied bugs as they always fascinated them. But one day, an attack from Citadel tore through where they were hidden underground, accidentally exposing the dragon to radiation that had been homed above their hideaway.

They had mutated into what they loved to study. Being a skydancer morphed with physical traits of a beetle, Monarch wasn't sure what to do. Their studies were ruined with their home having been flooded with radiation, and it was the only place they considered home. They chose to journey through the wastes, in hopes to find a life that didn't involved being dragged away into the Colony...

Monarch had ran into Reid in their journeys, a ridgeback who was fascinated with their appearance, which was surprising given most found it creepy or gross. Interest also rose with their appearance, but Reid very specifically about how it 'looked awesome.' Monarch spent a lot of time with Reid, and the two grew closer and closer in time, eventually to where Monarch decided...
