A traveler from a foreign Clan, Zaulen got his pearl from the Tidelord. When touched it causes the victim to bloat until they explode in a rush of water. Zaulen would keep traveling to get away from angry, heartbroken families, but he finally found a home where there are other Pearlcatchers like him, and where dragons know not to touch other dragons’ pearls.

Zaulen sits back on his haunches and lets out a heavy sigh. "I wish I could say that I didn't care and that it didn't bother me," he starts, batting his pearl back and forth and avoiding your gaze. "But I do. It bothers me. A lot. I don't feel too bad for those who touch my pearl--it's pretty quick, and I'm honestly just relieved when it's over. But when I see the family and friends... That pain lasts a lot longer."
He lets out another sigh, which transforms into an awkward laugh. "Wow, heavy topic, eh? So... do you like cookies?"
