Dragon Log
She was born as one of two “foundling eggs,” discovered lying unattended near the Clan entrance. The eggs in question were oddly patterned, with an even odder magic radiating from them, and some in the Clan--most noticeably the Gaolers--advised strongly against bringing them into the Lair. The Clan Mother, however, insisted that no hatchling should ever be abandoned, and so the strange eggs were brought safely to the Nursery, where Imbolc, as Clan Nanny, and Spinel, as Clan Healer, kept a close eye on them for some time…until they unexpectedly both hatched, within minutes of each other, into the oddest looking dragons any in the Clan had ever seen…
12-10-19: She was very quiet when she was born, barely managing to drag herself from her hot, flaming egg, before it disintegrated. There was an odd sadness surrounding her, and she did not seem to be happy at all to find herself in the Nursery Cave. Only a curious Fiendcat has managed to get much of a reaction from her at all so far, and even that was barely a small chirp. Spinel is keeping her in his cave for observation, and to see if he can perhaps find a way to remove those extra eyes that seem to be adding to her distress…
12-14-19: Today, with the help of "Quadrangla," Spinel found the answer to the problem of the "extra eyes": They were, apparently, the remnants of a multi-elemental spell, which was also influencing the little one's emotions, and suppressing her natural, quite beautiful, eyes.. The multi-elemental Adept carefully removed the spell, and now this newest addition to the Clan is much happier and healthier, though she does seem to still experience odd bouts of melancholy every once in a while, as if she is missing, or mourning, something precious. So much so, that the Clan Mother is thinking of sending out a search party to discover if there is another egg out there that the scouts overlooked...
2-24-20: After several moonturns of moping and not really paying attention to Clan Life, this Banescale has finally woken up, as it were, and has begun to ask questions about the history of the Clan. She has also agreed to join her “sister” in a large, bowl-shaped cave in the back of the Lair. The cave in question was carved out by the Gaolers of the Clan, as part of the “Time Circle Caves.” Oddly, neither Banescale seems that interested in thanking their older Clanmates for the help. In fact, the first action they took after claiming the cave as their own was to combine their power, and create a shimmering shield of Fire Magic that is easily permeable by all dragons of the Clan--except the Gaolers. More oddly still, the Gaolers do not seem to be offended by this action, although they do seem strangely sad…
3-17-20: The Fiendcat hs Awakened! And has actually managed to elicit a smile from his Banescale. This is a Banner Day! Now maybe, while the Banescale is engaged with the world and not moping, she will be able to think of a name for her companion--and herself--before she drifts into melancholy again...
3-19-20: To the shock of the entire Clan, this dragon has bonded with another companion, barely two days after her first Familiar Awakened! Even more shocking, she seems truly interested in the Longneck Wanderer, calling him her “Rider,” and speaking of going on adventures with him through time. Is it possible that her melancholy has come to an end at last? If so, then the Clan owes a tremendous debt to this strange new Familiar…
3-22-20: This little one’s strange fascination with Wind familiars has prompted a closer look at her Magic, to try to discover why a Fire dragon should have such an attraction to Wind familiars. And what better place to explore this, than the CLoudsong Celebration, during the Mistral Jamboree? At the Clan Mother’s suggestion, Capheira, an older Wind Born Clan Member, will be accompanying the young one on her journey, to help her explore Wind Magic more thoroughly, and of course, to show her around the balloon… ( , )
3-29-20: This Banescale has had a wonderful, exciting week, full of exciting shows ( ) and wonderful discoveries. As the festivities wrap up for another year, this little one is feeling much more confident than she did when she arrived at the Cloudsong. Along with all the gifts she will be taking home, she is taking home something even more important: The incredible truth that she is, in fact, a Dual Mage! She has affinity with both Fire and Wind, and will be exploring both in the months to come. Right now, though, she wants to get a last glimpse of that strange Crescendo, and a last “feel” of the Magic that infuses it… ( )
6-14-20: The Longneck Wanderer has Awakened! The Banescale is very happy for her friend, and excited to see what he will be doing with all this new energy. Perhaps he will even try to ride her now? For some reason, this idea fills her with a strange excitement…and in the meantime, perhaps she can figure out why there appear to be two of him now…though the second one looks a bit odd…and is calling himself a “Longneck Vigilante.” Perhaps she should have a talk with her “sister”? It seems that someone is messing with time travel again, and the last thing they want is those awful Gaolers noticing this and deciding to “discipline” whoever the nasty dragons decide is responsible. Best to figure this out quickly, before anyone reports it. And after all, they can never have too many dragon riders…
