"Rocks erode or weather over a long period of time, mainly by water and wind, and their sediments are transported downstream. These sediments continue to break apart into smaller pieces until they become fine grains of sand."
About
As the timekeeper of the temple located under the Claw-Shaped Mountain, Sand doesn't really have time for niceties. She is always rushing to and fro the different events being held at the temple. She mostly just marks that events (from as big as festivals, to as small as private weddings) have started on time, early, or late. Deity forbid an event doesn't end exactly when it was supposed to; She didn't really care what was going on, but an event that overstays its welcome throws the entire schedule off balance.

She is also technically in charge of the payroll. She leaves that to her assistant most days, however. The only time she ever dedicates any time to the task is when the entire schedule has been thrown out of whack, as that can make calculating pay just a wee bit difficult.

In her (rare) free time, she enjoys documenting any major astrological event, to make sure they have not shifted. These dates see her not under the mountain, but atop it, in a small building at the peak with small windows. These windows are carved so that each solstice and equinox hit a quartz gem inside perfectly. Cloudy days are the bane of Sand's existence. The roof of the gazebo-like building is enchanted to be much like a one-way mirror, making eclipses and meteor showers easier to watch.
