what's this? the once-teacher of the Golden Deer has also gone a-wandering...
A young mercenary-turned-teacher-turned-traveler who — after a rather strange series of events — was unofficially-officially adopted into the family of a nobleman in a far-off land, and is now often found wandering across Sorineth with little rhyme or reason. Occasionally can be found accompanied by their elder brother, heart-sister or other friends, though it isn't strange to find them entirely on their own. Possesses an incredible innate talent with the blade that has only been honed through regular practice and frequent spars with their brother — or whoever else is willing to clash swords.
In the past, they made their name as a renowned merc and fighter as part of their father's mercenary group. Though their presence in combat wasn't a frequent one, it didn't take long for word of the fearsome young dragon — no less dangerous for their youth — to spread. Even now that they no longer travel regularly with the mercenary crew their name still circles in certain groups, recognized in passing by those who remember a slightly different time.
And they need these skills — their luck on the road is notorious enough that it's generally these holdovers that keep them in one piece in day to day life. They wouldn't have it any other way, though. It just adds a little fun and spice!
Byth is cheerfully deadpan, more than happy to go about in whatever fashion catches their fancy. Rare are the times they make an enemy over a friend, and it offsets their brother's general acerbic attitude well, on what times the duo travel together. Kindness is met with like, and a chilly reception or wrong presumption of their character isn't their business unless it tries to get someone hurt.
And others do so like to make a good assumption about them. Too young, too old, too small, a weakling, a coward, a fledgling mage, a blunted swordsman. Rather than lean away Bythraz loves to lean into it, acting ever as themselves while the world blinds itself. And if one of those assumptions has to do with their skill, well.
Maybe they can show a few what they're really missing out on.
