12/09/19: day one Galore Hatch

It's been many years since the the clan settled. Some wander away, some get dragged in, and in very rare cases eggs are found in the hovels and ruins out in the world. This is rarely an issue the clan has grown big enough and knowledgeable enough at this point to handle any breed that ends up with them. Or at least that is what they thought. On one of their many explorations of the caverns and lava paths in the volcano Sidan and Shoney Found several nest looking caverns deep under in the dangerous and uninhabitable spaces. After several weeks the volcano decided it was going to be a bit more active making everyone nervous that they may need to move on again. Eventually it settled back down and they went exploring again.

There was a new cavern....it had eggs!(many damaged or cold of a type they had never seen. Of the many many dormant nests in the large half collapsed cavern they managed to find and bring home several eggs. Unfortunately only a few managed to hatch much to the dismay of the clan. They had expected some form of beastclan... That is NOT what hatched. For once BlackIce was at a total loss he had heard rumors and old legends......myths he had not given them credit.

here in a nest that managed to properly hatch 2 of the many they brought back, lay two confused and very clearly dragonkin hatchlings he had once heard called wyverns.

In the months that follow Sidan and Shoney and several other volunteers worked on clearing and mapping the area. Eventually the cavern finished collapsing despite their best efforts. While they found only a few more eggs and some old broken artifacts. The clan has done its best to do right by their new members. Sheylanarr especially empathizes with them. She hadn't known what she was or where she was from before meeting BlackIce. Hopefully in time she can give them answers. For now the clan makes the feel as loved and cherished as possible. If they choose to move on to find their answers no one in the clan would stop them. But they have a place and a home to come back to no matter what the future holds for their new family members.
Banescales
(It is very rare the males want anything to do with combat that is not Defend the Nest related in my clans lore.) Usually the females are FiGhT MeH!!!! While the males work together in a colony to raise the hatchlings. Genetic memory is filling in the blanks of history in some cases with Banescales. Sometimes it very much does not...)

Both Clan Leaders Sheylanarr and Kisame are still trying to sort out what the Banescales need from them and the clan since the orphaned eggs means they don't anything that isn't discovered by trial and error. At least the cliff side cave network is not so far off the base of the valley to be a threat to these hardy wyverns while they learn to fly. ( BlackIce thinks that they were classified wyverns in his old library be hasn't had access to that in years).

Watching them learn to fly has led to a LOT of panicky oh ****! moments for the clan. Halloween is usually stressing at the basking Ledge "THEY DON"T EVEN HAVE VESTIBLE CLAWS ON THEIR WINGS HOW DO YOU CLIFF HANG EVEN!" Halloween just wants to hug them and mother them they get a pass from getting hit with the learn to dodge sign. She can barely reach around the thick of their neck but she is going to hug them dang it!

( The Ghost on the scales for those that choose it is in tribute to the Sentinals and Guardian Gaolers who patrol the territory. The Banescales really like having such an obvious sign of belonging to the clan they want to serve. They just can't figure out what exactly in what way they are ment to serve. They will work it out eventually.
