Gabriel
  • Taken from the nest before he could even hatch, the first face he ever saw was of a beast with massive fangs and dark scales, caked in blood
  • Mare raised him for a little while, fed him her scraps and kept him mostly alive, waiting for him to grow enough to be useful though she could have never hoped to be a mother
  • It was as the war for monster's place in society began that Gabriel found a new home
  • A giant of a monster, far bigger than Mare, came to the nest one day with eyes like blood
  • Mare did not hear his cries as the stranger took him, though it did not take long before the hatchling settled in the soft fur of the beast
  • With this new face he was given a chance to grow, proper meals instead of table scraps, beings who cared for him and wished to see him grow, and the promise to keep him safe and happy
  • It was with those new faces he was given a name, Gabriel, and he learned the name of his savor, his father, Champ
  • Champ raised him with the help of Jovial and Boa, teaching him the languages of monsters, dragonkind, and coatls, as well as the cultures of each so he might act as a force to bind monsters and dragons together
  • He was a dragon, he knew this, but he was a monster at heart, which is perhaps why when he grew old enough it was Caligo that caught his eye
  • Caligo and Gabriel spent many years together before their first egg hatched, four more following soon after
  • Their children were hybrids, a cross between beast and dragon, and they would be raised with the most care and love their parents could muster
  • Gabriel spent many years like this, watching over a clan and his kin, before finally he began to find himself with questions he'd never gotten answered
  • Champ was not his real father, he had never hidden that truth from him, and neither Jovial or Boa could claim the title of kin, which them begged the question of who was Gabriel's blood?
  • With Caligo at his side, he left to find his answers, vowing to return as soon as he could
  • He is still their leader, he still returns home to see his kin and clan, but it has been many months since he stayed for more than a few days, still hunting for those answers
  • Jophiel is due to take over soon as she comes of age so Gabriel might continue his search with his mate at his side

    Other things to Note
  • Since he was little he's been accompanied by a Red-tailed Boa, which he had aptly named Boa after he'd been told what they were called.
    - It was definitely an accident that Boa shares a name with his surrogate mother
  • His adoptive brother, Flicker, was adopted first but is a bit younger than him, and so they have a running joke of calling each other the wrong thing (aka Flicker calls Gabe his little brother and Gabe calls him big brother), while also consistently correcting each other
    - Most find this incredibly confusing, especially since the pair laugh about it frequently
