Biography
Microlore: He handles only clean wool, as the debris of the unwashed shear is often too much and sets off a vision or a fugue. But the wool he spins and dyes are magnificent pigments, each one a tone more pure and enchanting than the last. Gentle mauves that mimic the mountain pinks, humble golds the hue of ripened wheat, blues deeper than the most colorful sapphire... His vats simmer gently while he draws the skeins from their baths and the world glitters as he hangs them to dry in the afternoon sun.
He loves color more than anything, and he delights especially in providing the perfect hue for a project. Many merchants special order from him, providing only the smallest swatch and expecting him to match a whole batch of fiber. He works in linen and wool, cotton and jute, anything that will hold a color and sell.
Some whisper that his Touched nature has given him lost knowledge to provide such beautiful tones, and perhaps they are correct, but his lair is still packed to the gills with books on the subject of dyemaking and processing color into cords. He is very careful when he is outdoors, as the Stonetouch has taken him unawares before, and he has wound up in some remarkable places with no recollection of how he got there. Only the rain, when it finally came, washed him free of the Touch. He has been careful ever since, and he keeps an assistant to ensure that any deliveries and requests will do him no harm.
Hatchling name: Lagoon for his deep voice and his/her/their deep blue fur. This is the name his family called him as he grew up, but not necessarily the one he kept when he joined a new clan.
This dragon is Stonetouched.
In Dragonhome, there are those who are born Stonetouched. They hear the past in the dust on which they walk. The feel the whispers of those who have gone before as they pass the stone bulwarks of their lairs. They know, deep in their bones, that they live as a result of a tremendous history.
These come from families deeply blessed by Earthshaker himself. Families which he smiled upon in favor in the times when the gods walked Sornieth.
Often clerics, and sometimes considered mad, these dragons struggle to live presently as they are constantly drawn towards the past. They are known for seemingly vapid stares as they are caught up in something beyond what the untouched see and hear, and for what sound to be half-mad whispers as they speak with the past.
Those who study and train and attempt to become better able to handle their skills can live a life of peace, walking between the past and the now. Those who do not take this time are doomed to be pulled under time and again, wrestling with the then to retain something of what they are.
In Oakrest, the Stonetouched come from Chandra's line, and they are marked with rings like eyes to symbolize seeing what can not be seen.
