Slander

I was not born into this world with a huge lair or many treasures. I was not born on the highest peak to watch the world go by peacefully. I was not born into the life that I have chosen.. But I was also not born into a life I wished for.

While the lands ruled by the Windsinger were everything a Dragon of my breed could have asked for, I left the realm.. Or rather, was banished for my acts that I committed. Many Dragons leave their nest to serve their God proudly. They are Exalted above all others and live happily among the other Warriors and humble servants of their God.. But this was not so for me. Exiled by my clan.. by my flight. Though I do not blame them for I would have done the same if I had been in their place.

The life of dignity, truth and trust is not what I live. Since I was a young one I have found my skills are of stealing and lies. It is how I survived all these years of my existence. I take from the lairs I come across of both food and treasure. I slink through the shadows silently without letting a claw tap the ground to give away my location. On the rare occasion I am caught in my tracks or simply allow myself to be seen in the open, the words that come from my maw are laced with slanderous lies to keep my true intentions hidden and my being safe from harm.

While no longer of the Windsinger's realm, I move with the grace of the Wind at my talons. It carries each step and flows through my feathers, forgiving my every action. The wind shall always be a part of me and shall forever remind me of home.

It was not long ago I happened upon the land of Shadows. Fitting it was.. Though a dangerous place for an outlander like me. With my body wrapped in dark clothing to mask my fiery coloring, I wandered into the realm of the Shadowbinder to perhaps find a place I could call home and stash my plundered treasure.
