  • kingdom invaded by people unknown to the prince when he was a child
  • royal family became basically obsolete and more for show/puppet leaders
  • royal sons started to die off, starting with the eldest
  • mother feared for his life and sent him to the land below
  • found by hamlet and brought to clan lair
  • eventuallly meets keshav and is enamored by her knowledge of magic/ability to info dump about magical theory
