Liza

Taken by a terrible orphanage when she was a hatchling, Liza would have been sold out as a lab rat had Sycamore not smuggled her out. They still fear something had already been done to her though, for she's a sickly dragon. The clan takes good care of her, and she keeps a cheery attitude most of the time, but she can't help but feel like a burden and will often look around everywhere seeking a chance to help others. She especially likes to cook for others after they've come back from hunting and foraging, and everyone seems to love her meals.

As a guardian, she believes her charge will be other children from that orphanage, but her poor health doesn't allow her to seek very far for them. She is sometimes seen around the nesting grounds with a distant look on her face, dreaming of a happy family reunited, and shuddering over nightmares of horrific chimeras far beyond saving.

As a kid, she thought the mix of plant and animal meant it was a lab experiment just like her, so she brought it home determined to help it. Even now that she knows it's a normal creature, it still gives her hope that all kinds of creatures can exist and be happy in this world.


Liza is a fandragon for Liza Drachrome, one of my original characters from my story blog, the Starsword Library. Because her design wasn't finalized when the dragon was gifted to me, a few references sneaked in, and will probably continue to do so, I love this dragon <3
