Airandara often acts strange, confusing other hatchlings as she talks to herself. It's not what it looks like, though - she talks to her mother, very, very old Imperial who witnessed this world's dawn and possesses immense magical powers. Some of them Airandara inherited, and is now able to reach her mother and some of her ancestors through telepathy. There is a little downside to it - Airandara is unable to grow, and her tiny body can't hold all of it correctly, so she must speak out loud. Even if there's no one around.
She loves thunders for this exact reason - they hush her words, and she can talk as much as she wants. She wishes to know so much - and her wise mother is teaching her all the things. The only one at the Temple of Soul with same abilities, who understands the struggle this little one is going through, is Echo.
Actually, Airandara is not the only child - she has a sister whom she loves dearly, but Gliese refused all the magic and is often busy with her researches. It happens rarely, but even Ignite, her father, sometimes comes to play with all the hatchlings and to spoil his daughter with something tasty, so with her family's support she actually feels quite lucky, even without many friends.
