"What did you want to tell me?" Demi stared at the Fae behind him. "You've been trailing me for a while. Is there a duty you need assistance with? I'm just about done with mine."

"Oh? No not in particular, just curious to see what you were up to. Say, perhaps we grab a bite? I'm sure you've had a long day too." Amias suggested.

"Sure, a bite can't hurt." The two grabbed a table in the parlor. There were always tables of snacks out, since visitors were frequently expected.

Dinner was filled with small talk and teasings, the two of them testing each other. One might think they were flirting. But Amias and Demi had a complicated relationship. Well, it wasn't that complicated, but there was an unspoken agreement that the two of them were something but at the same time they weren't. But every little quip or every food recommendation would reveal a most curious look in one another's eyes.

The two of them were entranced in this little conversational dance. They were only focused on one another, not of any of the responsibilities of the day. And Demi thinks that he could live like this, without any care in the world, watching the rest of it burn down around him.
