Shelanoir is a very old dragon, but remembers little of her early existence. She remembers flashes of clawing at a glass cage, and gleaming pink and red eyes staring at her. She remembers pain, and trying desperately to call lightning magic forth and nothing happening. At some point, chunks of her body were somehow torn away, and someone--she's not sure who or when--replaced the pieces with synthetic blue crystal that functions just as well.

Now, she is just a bit jumpy, and hates being indoors--she has taken up residence on the roof of the Walpurgisnacht clan's flying castle. Her eyes have settled a strange color somewhere between Lightning blue and Nature green, and she can weave interesting magic that has a variety of effects, but is best suited to manipulating plant life, by singing. However, she's still an approachable individual, who insists very strongly on being referred to as female despite having the extra antennae typical of a male Skydancer, and who is very protective of those who she trusts--especially Naoto, who brought her to the clan in the first place. She's become one of the clan's best guards since her arrival: she can sing and command vines to seize her enemies while she tears them apart with surprising ferocity. The clan's Arcane Sprite has taken to her, and will often ride on her back while enjoying a book. Shelanoir has named it Lere.

Althea's studies have made a few things apparent: Shelanoir's singing may actually be the source of the magical anomalies that gives the Walpurgisnacht clan their unusual magics. She is, in fact, tapping into another dimension when she channels her magic, and while she can control the energy she calls upon, it seems to linger afterwards. Whatever experiments Shelanoir was subjected to were able to cross dimensions. Althea is very interested in finding out who did this to her, but Shelanoir would rather leave well enough alone...
