Biography

Once a humble mother raising her children far in the depths of Lightning's deserts, Delane is far from those golden years now. All of her offspring are dead, her family perished, her mates nowhere to be found. Her name is all she has left, lonely and cold, more a label than an identity.

Delane was sunken long ago, so long it is barely a memory to the living. Everyone has heard rumors: legends about a ghostly ship with a ridgeback captain, a torn spirit that couldn't depart, and hundreds of wayward sailors who ventured too far off the coast and never returned.

Time has not been kind to her form, and whatever magic keeps her breathing has done little to preserve the sanctity of her scales and musculature, now being held together with rusty pieces of metal and the dried, solid body of the ocean.

Two companions join her on her ghostly voyages: Darnell (a huge, perpetually-damp ridgeback who has fortified his rotting form with wooden supports) and Cambria (a quiet skydancer who has turned to darker places in an attempt to preserve her mortal body).
