Biography

"I seek to understand the source of strength."

Once Dyshdir was a paladin of the Mother, hunting liches in secret for the council. Now she tries to be a peaceful sort, projecting her peace around her. It doesn't always work as she can be tempted to more or less harmless pranks and has a haughty temper. Her new calling is to monitor the dragons taking trials. She records their stories with an eye to seeking liches before they move into the wider world. She's certainly a philosopher at heart, fascinated by how dragons survive the trials whatever fate befalls them. She is the type to cure ghouls and help those failing the trials become wraiths rather than die or be corrupted.

Her symbols are Armor and Lamps representing her duty to defend against the corruption of Liches at any cost and her enlightenment and wisdom in her methods.

Things have meaning. They become an extension of who we are. I made a choice the day I laid down my blade and picked up an empty book. My blade and my armor were my service to Plaguebringer, The Mother of Rot, and Sickness by whom we are all made Pure and Strong. I never wanted to stop serving as a Paladin. I had seen so much pain and grief. So much corruption of Her favor. I had slain virulent feral Ghouls and hunted devious life-starved Lichs. But I had seen too much.

So I changed. I made a choice to give up those extensions of myself, hanging them in our family shrine where we would be reminded of all the ways we could serve. I never meant for you to follow in my footsteps, my child. I never thought you would. Now when I pray, I look at those pieces of me and see you in them too. I pray to the Mother who we have both devoted ourselves to that the powers she granted us are enough to protect you. But I know they aren’t. I should have given you the armor too.
