B I O G R A P H Y
”Gembond is a tertiary gene which can be inherited from a dragon’s parents or acquired from a gene scroll, but also can be the result of an onyx cobra’s venom. A dragon who already has Gembond is immune to that aspect of the venom. Gembond weighs down a dragon and makes it more difficult to fly, but it also provides additional protection.” (Wrenn’s Canon Lore Compendium)Elvar was a great flier, and he loved it! Known among his family and friends as the best flier out of all of them, he relished in his ability and used it at every given chance. But nothing ever lasts forever. One beautiful afternoon, the conditions were perfect for flying, so that’s exactly what Elvar was doing. He and his friends spotted a particularly large rock overlooking a cliffside, and decided to take some time to rest there. Elvar was the first to land, and while looking back at his friends, he failed to notice the coiled shape on the stone below. Ever since that day, it has been a struggle for Elvar to fly. The Gembond brought on by the onyx cobra was swift acting, and the beautiful rocks quickly burdened him with their excessive weight. Even as the strongest flier of his group, he frequently finds himself unable to take off from the ground, and oftentimes he finds that his wings are slightly too heavy to lift even remotely comfortably. Out of pure spite for his worsening condition, Elvar took it upon himself to further the non-existent research on Gembond. If at all possible, he hopes to find a way to reverse the effects brought on by an onyx cobra bite, and better his life (and maybe the lives of others in the process). It’s been hard though. All of his fellow academics will not follow him into this field of study: most- if not all -of them have not been affected by the effects of Gembond, and don’t particularly want to experience it for themselves. ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ |
