Ioannes

Clever as all Arcane dragons are, Ioannes is something of a polymath and a dabbler, studying a little of whatever catches his interest and ever pursuing his curiosity. A little alchemy, a spot of natural history... And of course, between his fascination with biology, compassion for others, and insatiable need to always learn something new, it was inevitable that he would have studied as a healer - if not a particularly good one. He has a fascination with books (particularly old ones) on various topics, and even took over from Whisper as Clan Librarian for a while.
One of the earliest arrivals to Windswept Cliffs, he took up coliseum fighting not long after his arrival, using his skills as a mage, healer, and naturalist to assist the more... stabby of his teammates. While his old compatriots Strike and Whisper have long since left, he still keeps in contact with them via letter (particularly Strike, who was as close as a brother to him), and has formed a close bond with Sirce and Aras, the Clan's new fighters. He was integral in welcoming them into the Clan and convincing them through kindness and loyalty to make it their forever home, and they see him rather like a wise, kind, and rather scatty uncle who they have to look out for on the battlefield.
In fact, this is quite similar to how much of the Clan views him, from Breeze, his healer's apprentice who quickly surpassed him and took on the role of healing the Clan (along with apprentices of her own), to the newest Clan hatchlings. While his Spiral scattiness and distractability can occasionally make conversation with him a little confusing, and he occasionally prefers the company of his books and familiar to that of dragons, he is well known as one of the most well-liked dragons in the Clan. Despite this, he has never taken a mate - he's not at all interested in all that.
