Biography
Pollux he/him
Art by jxzzpvnk #440359
Art by Orbeetle #471854
Castor and his brother Pollux shared an egg before hatching. The pair were very unhealthy, with almost no natural chance of survival. The Lightweaver heard the family's praryers to save the twins, She looked to the weaker twin, Pollux, and granted him divine power to pull him away from the brink of death. The power of light surged through him and the egg, but the bright light cast down from the Lightweaver blinded the infant Castor and left him with strange scars of magical light.
The Lightweaver's gift was not as strong in Castor as it was in Pollux, but he was given enough vitality to survive after hatching, despite being much smaller than the average tundra hatchling. Pollux' gift is seen in his shining primal eyes, but it also affected his size and proportions, making him appear much more like a gaoler than a tundra. It is clear to see Pollux' power through his primal eyes. He is indeed holds very strong physical and magical power, yet at the same time he is rather fragile. He is far too large for a tundra, and this puts a strain on his heart. He has to be careful to make sure he stays healthy, so any time that he uses a lot of his elemental power, he needs to rest for a while.
When he was young, Pollux didn't have much control over his power. His primal eyes often surged far to bright, hurting the eyes of his friends and family. Often, he wore a blindfold to keep others safe. It wasn't too hard to get around that complete lack of vision; the dragons around him were already accommodating Castor's blindness, but it wasn't ideal. His older sibling, Danny, eventually found a way to make special sunglasses to protect the ones close to him without the need for Pollux to cover his eyes. While he was still growing up, his family wore the glasses around him, and Danny and Castor made sure to pass them out to his friends. As an adult, Pollux has much more control of his powers. While his eyes still glow, they rarely hurt any other dragons as long as they don't stare directly into them. They become more dangerous and glow more brightly when he experiences strong emotions. Still, even without a cover over his eyes, the bright light from his primal eyes gives Pollux some trouble seeing things clearly.
