Biography

Mishka

-Velta Timeline-

-Someone, who after losing his lead project to a young upstart with more connections than he could ever hope to fight; decided to sabotage it despite knowing the risks.
-His sabotage semi-failed, as the prototype was deemed dangerous and unstable and put out of commission. But the research continued, despite the loss of life.
-His consciousness was eventually uploaded into the Cube and trapped in a neverending digital prison; somewhere lost in Warehouse 12 as punishment for his crimes.
-Spent his entire life working on creating a virtual world and then the ability to "transfer" human brains into them. He was only able to figure out how to copy brains however; at the time his project was stolen from him. He'd sacrificed so much of his life in this project that he couldn't just give up on it and let someone else claim his life's work.
-Became increasingly unstable as he fought to take back his project, eventually being fired when he wouldn't just take the hush money and shut up. Snuck back into the lab the night before they revoked his access to the building, and sabotaged his machine. This resulted in the death of thirty four people, and many more being injured. His project had been documented extensively however, and a working copy was made and improved upon in no time.
-When the head discovered that he was the one responsible for the sabotage, his brain was copied and uploaded into a blank Cube, while his real self was turned into a machine that they could use to extract information from.
-Had a lot of abandonment issues, and kept others at bay because he thought it'd be easier if they just stayed away from the start.
-Though that other people only thought as selfishly as he does, and could only relate to others from his own perspective. Which is why he doesn't believe that anyone would help anyone just from the kindness of their own heart.
-Hates other's pity because it feels mocking, in a way and not genuine. Just people who were praying for his downfall, here to kick him while he's down.

-Original Mishka Timeline-

"Your...pity is unpleasant. I'm not so low as to accept it."

-Born and raised in Outpost Sonnett where "Might is Right" and the weak do not survive for long. Whatever talents you might have - learn to use them well before someone else uses you as a stepping stone for their continued survival.
-Due to OS being one of the outer areas of the country, its mostly left to its own devices besides the annual taxes. People are pretty resentful that they're forced to pay such a hefty tax and still receive no benefits from the crown, but it's better than being wiped out. The Abominations this far out are more bold.
-Currently the outpost is co-owned by Shin and Mishka. Previous leaders were useless leeches that only cared about their own self-preservation; not that Mishka is too concerned about the safety of others besides himself.
-Shin distributes food and medicine daily. Mishka considers it a waste since "if they can't protect themselves, why should we help them? Its a waste of resources, they'll eventually die to something." Which...isn't entirely wrong.
-Mishka sees Shin as a rival, despite having worked together with him. He wants to one day take over the Outpost entirely because he sees Shin as dangerous to him. He doesn't trust him, and thinks this would be something Shin must also be planning (taking control of the entire outpost, I mean).
-Comes from a race of biosculpted humans who were originally supposed to be a sort of a "designer mate for the rich with Unique tastes". With time though, they've grown out of that icky niche and are now just another face in the crowd. Mishka inherits his eyes and fast-growing nails from his lineage. His bloodline is pretty diluted though, so he's not as inhuman as others with a purer line. His biosculpted ancestor was clearly based on some sort of canine, but his behavior could probably be best described as catlike.
-He does most things on a whim. His behavior is more selfish than evil, with self-preservation being his number one priority. Doesn't trust easily (due to most people in the wasteland being more than willing to backstab anyone; him included), so he doesn't trust Shin's promises since promises might as well be empty air. Knows Shin is stronger than him, which makes him even more wary of him. Very suspicious of Shin being so open and nice to him. Would probably be more comfortable if Shin asked for more from him, since that's something he's used to.
-Very prideful in both timelines. Acts refined when it suits his purpose, but is usually very casual and speaks his mind when he can get away with it. He will never back down even if he acts like he's dropped a subject, and can be extremely stubborn; willing to do anything for his goals. In the Velta timeline, he was raised in a more restrictive household though, and carries some of those lessons beat into him by his parents. He's more of a opportunist than he lets himself admit.
-Extremely petty in both timelines too; enough to revel in any misery that happens to his enemies.
-When he was a child, was absolutely obnoxious because he liked to act more mature than he was, and like he knew things he really didnt.
