Australis really doesn't mean to come across as rude, or childish, or eccentric. But whenever he tries to talk to other dragons, he just gets a little distracted. He's always a little preoccupied. Always plotting some new experiment, thinking about the results of a previous test, or actively trying to recreate a newfound theory, mid-discussion. That's just the kind of dragon he is, a scholar for whom the pursuit of knowledge is the most interesting and important thing in the world.

Taken in at a young age by his equally odd and mathmatically-minded foster father Thundersnow, Australis was raised in the village of Gateshadow, far from the rest of draconic society. This likely only added to his eccentrics, but did give him a full winter coat every year, something he would never have seen if he had been raised by his birth parents in the Sunbeam Ruins. It also gave him an incredible sense of curiosity and several wonderful recipes for winterbelle sorbet.
