Biography
"You understand your assignment, yes?" the robed figure intoned, their voice low and monotone. "You are to cleanse Sornieth of all wicked and shadowed beings. Leave no sinner standing."
"I understand, Ambassador," the small Wildclaw replied, tapping one of her hooked talons against the floor of the hall impatiently. "We've been over this ten times already."
"I need to ensure that you understand," Lumine replied, folding his arms. "Knowing your past, I cannot be sure of your intentions."
"My intentions are pure!" she huffed, indignant. "Just because I don't have a name given by my parents doesn't mean that I'm some foul creature."
"That is not what I refer to." the faun sighed and looked away from the Wildclaw. "Your parents are Death Guards, and but a shell of their former selves. You are lucky that you were taken in by the Lightweaver as a hatchling; else you may not have survived."
The little dragon lowered her head a bit. "I... I know. And I'm very grateful for that."
Lumine smiled slightly. "I know you are," he said. "And that is why I have faith in you." He opened the rusted doors of the Daylight Sanctum, letting the bright morning light shine onto them. "I'm sorry that I pester you so. Yet I am still a little worried for your safety."
"I've been training my whole life for this," she argued, stretching her wings. "I know what I'm doing."
Lumine closed his eyes, tilting his head down. "You... promise you'll come back and visit, yes?"
"I promise."
"Then, in that case..." Lumine opened his eyes, stepped off to the side of the doorway, and opened the box that lay there on a small table. He reached inside, pulling out a shining winged robe. Slowly and hesitantly making his way back over to the Wildclaw. "I'll miss you," he whispered.
She didn't respond.
Lumine took a deep breath, then draped the mantle over his charge's shoulders. "I dub thee Raze, Vanquisher of Shadow. Go, and complete your mission."
Raze nodded slowly, then reached out to touch Lumine's shoulder. "I'll be alright," she whispered, then charged out the door and took flight without pausing to look back.
