Nightshade chose Semprus to be his medic on the journey that his group of shinobi were to take- The imperial being well-known for his skill with herbs, as well as for the efficiency of his treatments. As an added bonus, Semprus was also never shy about confessing his fondness for the duality of medicine: Knowing how easily a particular treatment could become a poison, and knowing better than most what the best use of that poison might be...

There is no denying the benefits that such a skill-set brings to the group... But a majority of Nightshade's other companions are not always so approving of his choice-

For as seriously as Semprus takes his craft (and can behave when the time calls for it), he also has an incredibly dry and dark sense of humor- Getting a kick out of telling dragons outlandish things (such as "I can't wait to experiment on you whilst you sleep~" or "Ah... It's more serious than I thought") and relishing any time that he is able to make another dragon feel squeamish or afraid. He is not, truthfully, so bad as his humor would make him out to be- but he'd certainly like for you to think that he is.
