Born far from the lands of the Arcaneist, Gloom was a fae out of place in the wastes. Or at least, In his birth clan. He was magically gifted, more so than most, and often had problems containing it. For this his birth clan feared him, calling him a harbinger of doom, and earning him his name.

After a while he couldn't take the isolation and hostility his old clan forced on him, and he fled. On the road, he learned of a small group of dragons that took in misfits like him. Hoping that he may find a new home, he went on his way. Somewhere along in his journey, he met a blight inflicted Imperial named Apopthyllite, who was so focused on alchemy he didn't realize he was inflicted.

Having heard the clan he was heading to had a good cure rate for the blight, he invited the other to join him. They eventually reached the group, and were accepted with open wings. Gloom soon found himself as head of the fledgling mage guild, and also one of the Brood mother Genen's close confidants.

He fathered one son, Faust, who became an apprentice to the clan spymaster. Faust gave him two grandchildren, Silvertongue and Hades. He is proud of them, and is glad that they have never faced the same antagonism that he had in his youth. Malady's edge is his home, and Gloom is happy here.
