HISTORY

Lahar was born to a small wind clan in the Windswept Plateau. He was taught about love, beauty, and nature as the three greatest forces in the universe. He took this belief very seriously all the way into adulthood.

He found Ninsar in a ditch between two territories, her wings and eyes damaged beyond repair. She looked to be on the verge of death; her feathers were dull and falling out in clumps. Lahar used a bit of wind magic to levitate her on a dense cloud and carried her to the Glittering Cave, where she was healed by Prim. When Ninsar was finally healed, she feared that she would never find a mate, but Lahar was determined to be with her.

When Devereaux was given to him and Ninsar, he took on a gentle role with him, teaching the hatchling about the things he'd learned in his youth. His proudest moment was when Devereaux said he wanted to be a guide and help hatchlings realize their potential. Ninsar had always been the stricter parent, causing a small rift between the two, but in that moment, it was settled. They knew they had done something right.

PERSONALITY

Lahar isn't the brightest dragon in the Coven, but he makes up for it in heart. He's by far a lover, not a fighter, and always has a little too much love to give, sometimes smothering Ninsar and Devereaux. Because of his caring nature, he was Prim's first choice to be the nursery overseer in the deep caverns of the Glittering Cave.

Although he spends the majority of his time overseeing hatchlings, he occasionally has a night to himself. He enjoys flying, as he did when he was in his original Wind clan, and will soar above the clouds humming and singing songs from when he was a hatchling. He and Ninsar will go for walks through the thinly wooded areas near the Glittering Cave, looking for shiny beetles and interesting leaves to take home and show the hatchlings. He also enjoys spending time with Xapham and exchanging stories of their lives before the Coven.

Prometheus sometimes questions Lahar's ability to be part of the Coven's inner circle, but Prim insists he stays in. He's more of a listener than an innovator, but he knows when an idea is bad and doesn't hesitate to say something. He's also very sensitive to the needs of others, so if a plan becomes a little too inhumane, he's always the first to protest it.
