Biography
Needs poison/toxin
In the depths of the Gladekeeper’s domain, there once lived a tribe of dragons. The unforgiving jungle they lived in became their ally, rather than their enemy, for these dragons had developed a certain ability for just that.
Other dragons call them Venomspitters, for that is their preferred hunting method. They are dragons who not only have honed their bodies into a full immunity to poison, but the capability to store it as if it were nothing - to survive the venoms of their habitat, they themselves have become it.
They are like sponges: be it a particularly toxic plant or the defense mechanism of the local wildlife, Venomspitters will suck it all away to take it for themselves, leaving that around them a little weaker, and themselves - a little stronger.
It is due to this capability that the original Venomspitter tribe has survived so well, and perhaps it is for the same reason that the Venomspitters are no longer limited to their original homeland. Descendants of the tribe have found their way across all of Sornieth, passing down their strange ability, then doing what they do best: survive.
Night Venomspitters are capable of using the poison stored in their bodies to, in turn, harm others: a shot of concentrated venom or a slash of laced claws is usually enough to take down most prey. Because of their natural immunity to poison, this does not bother them in the slightest, although they will have to re-extract the poison before sharing with other dragons. Most Night Venomspitters don’t go further than using their ability for hunting animals, but some might target
fellow dragons.
Night Venomspitters concern themselves with their own survival before that of others, and as such are mostly found in areas where such a way of life is practically a requirement to survive. They are most commonly found in the territories of Plague, Ice and Lightning, with some also located in Nature, Fire, Earth or Shadow. In the other flights, Night Venomspitters are a rarer sight, but that isn’t to say there are none there.
Among both Day and Night Venomspitters, there is a certain variation that occasionally occurs. While it is the Venomspitters’ ability to store poison in their bodies that allows them to live as they do, every once in a while a Venomspitter will be born who has trouble doing so.
Because of this, the poison cannot be held in their bodies for an extended duration of time, as it will eventually begin to visibly leak out again. Because of this, they are called Leaking Venomspitters by others, a name they wear with little pride.
Leaking Venomspitters are often outcast, no matter where they go. To other dragons, they often appear to pose a serious threat, as even though their ability of absorbing poison remains intact, the dripping poison causes none of them to dare approach the Venomspitter, out of fear of only being harmed by its presence.
To other Venomspitters, Leaking Venomspitters instead are a disgrace, a burden: they cannot perform their duty effectively, as the healers immediately contaminate anything they might’ve helped again, and the hunters often lag behind due to running out of ammunition too soon.
Some Leaking Venomspitters have formed groups of their own, surviving in their own way without fears of not meeting the standards of any other dragon. Though these groups are uncommon, like the Leaking Venomspitters themselves are, it may just be one of the only hopes they have at survival. And if all else fails, rumors have been going around of Leaking Venomspitters forming alliances with local Serthis clans...
Leaking occurs in all kinds of Venomspitters: both Day and Night Venomspitters may be born as one, and the birth flight of the dragon does not appear to have any effect on whether it is born as a regular Venomspitter or not. The only factor that has any influence is the dragon’s ancestry, for if a dragon is born to two weaker parents, it will very likely follow suit.

Night Venomspitters
These Venomspitters are of the ‘hunting’ type. Named after their habit of nocturnal hunts, Night Venomspitters are generally considered the darker cousin to Day Venomspitters, although they certainly aren’t all violent and aggressive: they’re merely trying to survive.Night Venomspitters are capable of using the poison stored in their bodies to, in turn, harm others: a shot of concentrated venom or a slash of laced claws is usually enough to take down most prey.
