B I O G R A P H Y

Moonstone was often unsure about who she was as an individual. When she was paired with Zane, she thought she was happy. Their children were beautiful, but eventually, she began to feel more like ‘Zane’s girlfriend’, and less like ‘Moonstone’. She told Zane how she felt, and upon hearing this, Zane was hurt. But, because all he wanted was for her to be happy, he allowed her to go out and explore herself. He expressed to her that the last thing he ever wanted to do was to tie her down and keep her from knowing who she really is. Moonstone was delighted.

On her soul-searching trip, Moonstone visited most of the other domains, with the exception of the Windswept Plateau, as she had seen it hundreds of times. While visiting the Starfall Isles, she visited a theater with the most spectacular play she had ever seen. The story felt more real than any play she had ever visited. When the play had come to its conclusion, she approached security and asked to visit backstage. Upon receiving permission, she was greeted by the cast and thanked her for coming to the show. “Who was the genius dragon behind the special effects?” she asked them. “I would love to learn the trade.” Flabbergasted that she showed little interest in the actors, they parted and led her to another Pearlcatcher.

Moonstone approached the Pearlcatcher, who was occupied with cleaning up after the show and asked him about the special effects. When he looked up, he had done a double-take, jaw dropping at the beauty of the dragon that had approached him. The awkward Pearlcatcher, in explaining his process, nearly dropped his broom half a dozen times. He then taught her something he called ‘Flash Magic’, which involved a lot of crystals, lights, and plenty of trick sorcery. She even figured out some things he never even knew about by accident. His sister was one of the actresses in most of the productions, and grew to love Moonstone’s talent, almost over her own brother’s.

_FIRST MEETING_

____Lapis and Topaz found Moonstone when he visited the Training Fields late at night. She sat alone in the middle of the tall grass, dazed and almost hypnotized. She held her peal close to her and ran her thumb over a large crack in the surface. Her fur was messy and uneven, her whiskers jagged and knotted in places. Tears ran down her face, though she didn’t cry. Out of fear and concern, Topaz and Lapis brough her back home and cleaned her up, brushing her fur out, straightening her whiskers, and offered her a meal.

____After resting, Moonstone thanked Lapis and Topaz or their kindness, explaining to them that she was out for a walk, although she couldn’t remember why, when she fell and rolled down a hill into a beastclan territory, she couldn’t remember what kind of beasts, and they had chased her to the field where she laid low until they left. After that, she didn’t seem to notice Lapis and Topaz approach her, or notice that she was being moved. Though she still doesn’t remember what happened that night, Moonstone made a full recovery.

_PERSONALITY_

____Moonstone can often be described as eccentric or free-spirited. She collects gems, crystals, dark-colored flowers, butterflies and moths, black feathers (she has been guilty of having a Skydancer feather or two in her room). Aside from a collector of odd things, Moonstone fails to recognize who she is. When her relationship with Zane ended, she took the time to discover herself, and found that she loves theater, and relishes in the awe of an audience. She preferred to specialize in special effects, rather than act. She had terrible stage fright.

____Moonstone enjoys making dragons smile and entertaining. She is confident, despite disliking being onstage where many eyes are on her at once (especially if TigersEye is in the audience), and she loves mystifying children, often visiting the nursery to entertain the hatchlings so Sheela can catch her breath. When chosen as the Arcane Ambassador, she nearly dismissed the title and continued what she wanted, but accepted when she learned how dragons would have reacted if the Arcane Ambassador made them part of her schedule.
