Biography

.
Appleoats

As the ships hurry home on the turning tide
As the treeblood slows and colors bloom
As the constellations dip and rise
As the world breathes "rush now, rest soon"
The soul of the wind whirls the season through.

After the last leaves rattle and fall
Once the last bonfire sparks dance away
When work's packed up with the harvest haul
The autumn breeze curls into shape to play
The soul of the wind is a flitting fae.

One of the embodied minor winds that showed up in the wake of the Crescendo's great reversal. Popular theory around the Plateau is that this is either the true reason or the result of the Windsinger's long journeying, imbuing the winds carried with him with sufficient magic to ensoul them. Some scholars instead argue the winds have been capable of such transformation since the Windsinger first created them and it was only the world's ambient magic level ballooning so suddenly that roused their curiosity enough to finally try draconic form.

A friendly nose-nipping being with a taste for skimming cider, blowing smoke and playing with the leaves. Called Appleoats by the hatchlings that haven't yet learned to pronounce names of winds correctly, or Acorn for hits coloring. Given the pronouns hit/hits because hits definitely sexless but "it" seems rude (and the feminine alternative ruder, though hatchies giggle it in secret anyway).

Appears fond of playing dragon as hits now only absent from the last days of summer to first frost of winter (or sometimes a little beyond) when hits breeze is most needed.

Pillow-Cinder-Soil.png Re'em heard the term 'wind friend' and immediately presented hit with a Pillow of Friendship. Exactly the kind of thing he does.

The wind took it. (The real mystery is, where does the wind keep it?)
