Biography
After the Tidelord died, the Sea turned to chaos.
The tides were wild with grief, and unpredictable, as all of the orcales were lost without their god. Their congregations lost their faith and turned against each other, more and more each passing day, until the years slipped by and the old way of life was lost.
Katakyma was born in the Tsunami Flats, yet she was still a lightborn. Only those who waded out into the black tides could bear waterborn children anymore, as their god's influence fell further into the Sea.
She was lucky, as far as the almost-waterborn go. On the southern shore, entire clans were raided and carried away daily, into the Plateau or Waste or Expanse. North, dragons struggled for a meager living in the muddy shores of the Wood or the sapping tendrils of the Wasteland.
By the Ruins, though, there was still life. There was still food and trade and some semblance of security, even if it came from the Lightweaver's Inquisitors rather than the holydragons.
Katakyma had a crew, her parents belonged to one, and there she learned the sailor's way of life.
