Biography
Saleena always seems lost in thought, but don't be fooled. Even the slightest movement in the brush, or a flicker of light, will have her claws gracing the hilt of the crystal blade slung against her hip. She is actually very keen. Her stoic, often inattentive, demeanor catches many dragons off guard. When day rolls around, Saleena is slumbering atop the sun-kissed bluff. Her pearly armor glints beneath the sun. She has a complicated look in her eyes as she watches her clanmates go about their day. Despite her aloofness, she holds many dragons very dear to her heart, her mate being one of them. As a valued member of the clan, Saleena works as a mentor for the younger dragons. She is a rather apathetic teacher, but a good one nonetheless. When she is not training others, she will aid Monsoon on his bounty hunting missions. Saleena was a lot different when she was a young whelp. She was a loud, boisterous brute and extremely cocky. As the strongest and oldest of her hatchmates, she was often left in charge of her little siblings. They looked up to her in awe as she guarded their lair and took care of the younger dragons. They never needed to fear anything, and it only boosted Saleena's ego. Once they got a little older and too big for the lair, the group of fledglings began spelunking through the wilderness. Her siblings would always beg her to take them to dangerous places. From the arid deserts crawling with dragon-sized scorpions to the snow-swept forests where yetis roamed. They were adventurous whelps, and Saleena was by their side. Ferocious beastclans challenged them but Saleena always won. With the snap of her jaws and a swing of her blade, nothing could bring her down. The sting of her shallow wounds and adrenaline surging through her veins left her hooked on the thrill of battle. She loved it. The young dragons felt on top of the world. They felt invincible. In reality, they were just a group of reckless kids. One day, Saleena took her siblings to the Mire. Rumors were floating around about a terrifying, dragon-eating monster from the bog, but Saleena only scoffed at it. Monster schmonster! She was strong, swift, and untouchable. What she failed to understand is that her siblings were not. She could only watch in horror as the titanic Wartoad surged out of the swamp and, in the blink of her eyes, her hatchmates were gone. Dead. Saleena wasn't strong enough to stop it. When the beast was finally gone, Saleena couldn't bare to return to her clan. She ran away. Grappled with a horrible feeling she couldn't understand, Saleena decided that all she could do was become stronger. Throughout the years on her own, Saleena trained herself. She became so strong that she cut the monstrous Wartoad which killed her siblings in two. Even after its blood had stained her pelt and she finally got her revenge...she still felt awful. Her siblings were still gone. Maybe strength wasn't the answer. Saleena realized that even if she was the strongest dragon in the world, she wouldn't be able to protect everyone. But...what if she could help them learn to protect themselves? With this new realization, the skydancer decided to become a trainer. After she let go of the rigorous training and began pursuing this new goal in life, that feeling which shackled her for years finally started to release its icy cold grip. |
