Bleeding Souls Subspecies
Any Modern Breed, Any Flight
Lore:
A sickness caused by consuming two-leggers (humans). A disease they carried mutated and was able to spread to dragons, which caused creeping, blood-red welts to cover the skin. All color drains from their scales and their wings darken. The dragons are in constant pain, and howl at all hours of the day and night. Those that survive are contagious, and a mere touch by a sick dragon would ensure that the other dragon would get it. The sickness is also genetic to an extent, which means if a hatchling is born with the following tertiary gene requirements, it is considered a "bleeding soul." Whole hoards of "bleeding souls" gather together to comfort each other the best they can. The only relief they seem to find is to bathe in hot lava, which doesn't kill them, but miraculously takes the pain away for a short while.
Colors and Genes:
Primary Maize-Orca/Basic, Crystal, Iri, Metallic
Secondary Platinum-Shadow/Tomato-Carmine/Any
Tertiary Tomato-Carmine/Crackle
Fresh Souls: Newly hatched--50 years old
Primary Maize-Orca/Basic, Crystal, Iri, Metallic
Secondary Platinum-Shadow/Tomato-Carmine/Any
Tertiary Tomato-Carmine, exluding Garnet-Maroon/Crackle
Dried Souls: 50+ years old
Primary Maize-Orca/Basic, Crystal, Iri, Metallic
Secondary Platinum-Shadow/Any
Tertiary Garnet-Maroon/Crackle
In the rare case a dragon reaches 100 years, they are no longer considered contagious. Their sores have darkened and dried, and they no longer feel any pain.
Familiars: poisonous, inorganic
