World famous inventor of the first underwater toaster, Ansiel is a renowned tinkerer of water friendly appliances. His quiet, subtle overbearingness is a nice compliment to his wife's really loud and obnoxious overbearingness.
There is no problem Ansiel won’t solve. According to his kids, at least. Broken window? Naughty familiar? An object gone array? Perhaps a crush that hurts a little too much? Ansiel will dad his way through the issue, regardless of if that help is wanted or even helpful.

It is the science of simple things that goes unnoticed, Ansiel has found. The math that makes the threads of clothes, the intricate effort to bring names to all living things, the calculations that go into the lenses in glasses.

"Hey, dad?" Anvil asks.

Well, typically unnoticed. Some dragons do have the eye for such things.

Ansiel pauses his work at his workbench, "Yes, dear?"

"This weld any good?" she holds up a T-joint for him to access.

He adjusts his glasses to examine her work. It's a fine weld, clean and straight. Which, is to be expected of such a talented welder as his daughter.
Why is Anvil even bothering to ask? She knows she did it correctly.

"Yes," he says, turning back down to his work, "Very good, dear. Very good,"

He returns back to the clock he's refurbishing without a second thought. The cogs are so tiny, the details so intricate. The only other member of this family, if not the whole clan, who has such an eye for the true state of such intricacies as Anvil.

So it's a mystery, then, why she asks such useless things like his opinion on a T-joint welded perfectly fine.
