Somewhere, deep beneath Tithir's smooth talking and well-ironed collection of capes, there is a dragon who actually has a conscience and who truly wants to do the right thing. Tithir grew up in Earth, far away from Water, his home Flight, and when he was younger he made a living through con jobs. When he was a bit older, he got involved in the smuggling business, and quickly made a name for himself due to his steady head and skill and fast-talking. He was always deeply unsatisfied with such a life, though, and he eventually set out trying to make an honest living for himself. He wasn't very good at that, at first, and quickly fell back into his old ways. He drifted from Flight to Flight until he accidentally happened upon Home and took refuge during a particularly stormy night. Since then, he's been leading Home's weekly trips to Mirrorlight to buy supplies, and he swears by his haggling ability. Home's budget has certainly improved since, and Tithir swears that 95% of what he brings back wasn't even stolen.

Tithir can often seem a bit morally ambiguous and he tends to keep secrets compulsively. He's very often a chipper and smiley sort of dragon, and he can be very personable when he's in the right mood for it. He talks fast and well. His family at Home says accurately of him that he could sell you a piece of treasure for a gem and convince you that you got the better deal. Despite his tendency to often flirt with the wrong side of the law, Tithir has no tolerance for bullies and is notoriously loyal to the point of being stubborn. He's been known to start fights on the benefit of his family - which he still can hardly believe he has - at even the slightest provocation, and he keeps promises to the point of tenacity. He's been known to keep little promises to return borrowed books after two days as if they were matters of life or death. As a sort of retaliatory act against his childhood living in intense poverty, Tithir keeps a collection of carefully-maintained capes, often in colours that clash with his outfits, and can rarely be seen without one. Though it's easy to believe he doesn't have much of a conscience, he'll defend his siblings at Home against even perceived injustices, and he once got spotted trying to start a fistfight with a local corrupt politician. Tithir is very good at talking his way out of any situation and making others believe he doesn't care about anything, but everyone at Home knows he has a heart. Even if it's buried deep.

Behind the Name...

Tíðir (transliterated Tithir, pronounced teeth-eer) is the nominative form of the Old Norse word for time. Poetically, the definition of tíðir is often not simply "time" but "the inevitable continuation of events."
