Acrotis was once a very calm and cool dragon with a bit of a hot temper. He was very smart and cunning as well as rather bloodthirsty in battle. However, that was a long time ago. Now he is a insane. He enjoys laughing for no reason, and alternates between mumbling and screaming random words. He does not listen to anyone other than Tempest. At one point wore he an entire set of venomscale armor. This was the armor he was gifted when he was a warrior for the Arcanist. Acrotis abandoned his armor after Sin appeared to the clan. Out of nowhere, Acrotis started to painfully sprout mouths from different parts of his body. These mouths were capable of speaking, eating, and biting independently of one another. These mouths can, and often do speak all at the same time about different things, only serving to make Acrotis even more difficult to understand. When Acrotis fights, the mouths on his body aid him by biting the dragons who get too close, while alternating between screaming and whispering random words. The moments of lucidity gifted to Acrotis by the Arcanist are nearly gone. With the mouths on his body, he is no longer in control. His Sickle Kamaitachi follows him because it onced recognized his ability in battle and is now too afraid the crazed mirror will kill him to escape.

The reason Acrotis is upsetting the clan balance and sitting beside Tempest is because he can only be controlled by her. Otherwise the clan is set in delicate balance with those who have more influence in front of those who are not.

Acrotis was formed when the Arcanist cast life on a discarded crystal orb. He was sorted into the pile for the Arcanist's soldiers, just like Tempest.

Unlike Tempest, he did not enjoy reading the sacred battle tomes, he liked physical altercation much more. He did not take well to the Arcane magic, and still refuses to use any to this day. Like Tempest, he was left nameless.. and they called him "Slicer" to distinguish him from other dragons. From here he was given a full set of rather expensive venomscale armor, with sharp spikes sticking out all over to allow for him to attack with more ferocity. This fit him well, considering his rather aggressive way of fighting.

Tempest was his superior. She was hatched before him and had been around longer, so he respected her. Despite the fact Acrotis and all the others were warned to never show emotions, Acrotis fell in love with a mirror everyone called "Skull." Though it went against everything the guard held sacred, the two became Soulbound. They both wanted to continue fighting, despite this revelation. And they attempted to hide their relationship from all other dragons. However, Tempest soon discovered their secret. Rather than tell the Arcanist and have them removed from service, Tempest kept her mouth shut.

And all was well and grand.. until the shade descended upon them. Acrotis could do nothing but watch as "Skull" was ripped to shreds and the shade consumed her body.

Normally, the death of one Soulbound dragon would result in the death of their partner.. however.. this was not the case with Acrotis. Due to his rough soldier training, he survived... but something in him changed. The part of his soul that had melded with 'skull' had been torn from his body, and the remainder of his soul shattered into a thousand pieces. The part of his mind which had always touched hers fragmented, and he was no longer himself.

And thus... Acrotis became what he is today.. His mind shattered with his soul and he became a nonsense muttering murder machine.

The Arcanist surveved Acrotis, long after the battle was over. The Arcanist did his best to repair what little remained of Acrotis' soul and mind, unable to completely repair something that was gone forever. There was some improvement. Acrotis showed some signs of lucid activity, but not enough for him to ever return to being a soldier of the Arcanist. He would no longer listen to orders by anyone, even the Arcanist's own orders fell on deaf ears. The only solice the Arcanist took was the one when he noticed Acrotis listened to Tempest. And so, Acrotis gained his name.. after the rot in his mind and soul. And Acrotis was banished with Mildew and Tempest, on the far corners of his territory. The Arcanist hoped Acrotis would regain control over his old self, and become what he once was.

Acrotis now follows Tempest, having nothing else better to do. And the only thing he can remember is her.. not telling the Arcanist of his Soulbound status with 'Skull.'

So Acrotis left with Tempest and Mildew, and they formed their own wing together. Despite his ravings, Acrotis will always stop and listen to Tempest and always obey her.

Acrotis' ravings include utter nonsense and the occasional singing. Oddly enough, his brain is actually acting as a receptor for different clans, so he sometimes spouts conversations which are happening in other clans.
