The entire Roost trusts her judgement, aside from the child kidnappings, and follow her guidance on most matters. She is a healer, a mother, and a friend, and she will gladly welcome anyone into her Roost and her home, regardless of their past. Her only exception are those who seek to harm her children, friends, or mate. She seeks council in the Gladekeeper’s local mouthpiece, Oronia, who believes that life can, and will, flourish everywhere. Emerald’s reasoning for adopting so many children into the clan is simple. She sees them neglected, abandoned, only cared for long enough until someone buys them to train for exaltation. So she takes the children first, to raise in her Roost, so they can choose their own path, and so they can know love. ________________________________________ |
